Anthony Davis has become a source of concern for the Los Angeles Lakers since his second season with the team. Injuries have been a common thing for him, and just when things appear to be better, something bad happens to him again.

In recent weeks, Davis picked up another injury that has kept him sidelined while the Lakers exchanged wins and losses, making things hard for the 17-time NBA champions. In recent hours, we learned that AD's injury is similar to what Joel Embiid suffered at the beginning of his pro career and the one that made Yao Ming retire.

This really set the alarm within the Lakers organization, as Davis is expected to lead them, at least until the playoffs arrive. Once the postseason starts, LeBron James was supposed to show up, but it's been the complete opposite for the Purple and Gold.

Anthony Davis Is Reportedly Close To Making His Return

Nevertheless, the Lakers are getting promising news, as AD could be returning to the court soon to improve things for his squad. According to Dave McMenamin, Davis could be nearing his return, which could happen in one week (8:10 mark).

“Anthony Davis is, as we speak right now, potentially a week away from returning,” said ESPN’s Dave McMenamin. “He’s going to continue the ramp-up process, go through a couple full-fledged practices full court, and it’ll be all about how his body responds the next day. But, if he has everything continue to go the right way, he will be back playing for the Lakers next week at Crypto.com Arena and be with them for that entire road trip.”

This is great news for the Brow and the Lakers, who need each other to succeed this season. Hopefully, he can make his return before the All-Star break and set the tone for the rest of the season for the Lakers. Davis is a crucial piece for the Lakers if they want to compete this season, especially if they don't plan to make a trade anytime soon.
