The relationship between the Atlanta Hawks and Trae Young is on rocky waters right now, and speculations are rife that the latter might request a trade. NBA Insider Chris Haynes weighed in on that situation.

The Hawks and Young situation has also sparked ample rumors, with the latest being the resignation of head coach Nate McMillan. While he did quash it, there have been situations that lean towards an impasse between both the player and the coach.

On that note, Haynes shed light on a potential Young trade request:

"Obviously, I can't predict what's going to happen. The Hawks right now have been up and down, mainly down this year. You know, there's been some turmoil that's been going down in that locker room. And this is something that has been going on for a while, nothing new."

I think you can get the sense and feel that it's reaching a boiling point right here and something is going to have to break. And I don't know what that is. You see the front office making unconventional moves at the midway point in the season.

You really don't see the head of basketball operations step down in December. Landry Fields is running the show over there as the general manager and they let go of some of the front office personnel that came in with Travis, who stepped down to take an advisor role. So, there are some things going on right there, but it's all going to depend on how this season ultimately fares."

Trae Young To The Miami Heat?

One of the reports that generated buzz last month was how the Miami Heat would be the perfect place for Young to ply his trade.

CBS Sports' Sam Quinn opined that the point guard could do well in the company of Bam Adebayo and Jimmy Butler.

"Young could be their primary ball-handler of the future. The theoretical fit with Bam Adebayo is nearly perfect. Young has played almost exclusively with lob threats at center. Adebayo's basketball IQ, screening and passing makes him arguably the third-best dribble-handoff partner for a star guard in basketball… That sort of dance partner could expand Young's horizons in the pick-and-roll. Adebayo is the sort of defender you'd need to cover for Young's shortcomings. Heat culture would squeeze out every last meager drop of defensive potential he has."

The Hawks have lost of their last five games and are placed tenth in the East with an 18-21 record. Only time will tell if Young will indeed ask out of Atlanta.
