The Los Angeles Lakers are having a mixed bag of a season. An imbalanced roster and an injury to Anthony Davis have seen them end up 3 games below .500, but the season is far from over for the Lakers. They picked up another win against the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday night, and despite the win, there was a weird bit of news after the game.

Dennis Schroder, who has recently stepped up in key moments for the Lakers, was stopped by the police on the road after the game. Schroder has been instrumental in a few wins, getting the clutch play against the Memphis Grizzlies, and putting up an all-round performance against the Spurs on Wednesday. But despite the good vibes at the end of the game, his night took a bad turn when cops pulled over a car he was in.

The NBA has a fair share of news about its players getting into trouble, and this would usually be a matter of concern. But when it became clear exactly what had happened, it was apparent that Schroder hasn't done anything that will land him in too much hot water.

Dennis Schroder Was Pulled Over Because A Vehicle He Was In Had Improper Platers

There is no need for Lakers fans to fear the worst, the stop was conducted thanks to the vehicle not having a proper plater. Schroder himself was confused and his surprise was reported by TMZ Sports

“I don’t know what happened,” the 29-year-old told a camera person during the stop. “I’m still surprised.”

The article went on to explain what happened during the whole incident, and it seems like the whole fiasco was nothing more than an inconvenience for Schroder.

“Cops tell TMZ Sports…it all went down at around midnight, just a couple hours after the Lakers game had ended. According to an LAPD spokesperson, the stop was initiated after the vehicle allegedly had improper plates. Video from the scene shows cops spoke with Schroder and what appeared to be his driver for about half an hour after pulling over the ride at a gas station.”

In his last 12 games for the Lakers, Schroder has averaged over 15 points and nearly 4 assists. He's become a key contributor for the Lakers as they fight on to potentially secure a spot in this season's playoffs. This incident is unlikely to bother Schroder too much though, the whole situation seems like it will blow over without much incident.
