Chris Paul is definitely one of the best point guards to set foot on an NBA court. One of the most impactful players of all time, the Phoenix Suns star has always brought the goods to every team he's been on and even in his late 30s, is still trying to do something good.

His tenure on the Phoenix Suns has been full of ups and downs, as he was able to play in the NBA Finals last year, but couldn't beat the eventual champions Milwaukee Bucks in the big series. After that, he appeared to have a big chance but the Dallas Mavericks demolished the Suns in Game 7 of the 2022 Western Conference semifinals.

CP3 has earned a reputation around the league that he's disliked by many players. After the last couple of seasons, those rumors have gotten bigger and recently, one Phoenix Suns fan wanted to know what's the issue with the so-called 'Point God.'

Matt Barnes Gets Real On Chris Paul's Perception Around The NBA

He had issues with Blake Griffin on the Los Angeles Clippers, the same with James Harden on the Houston Rockets and even with some rivals like DeMarcus Cousins and, more recently, Jose Alvarado last season. This is why Bootleg Kev asked Matt Barnes, a former CP3's teammate about the perception of the point guard around the league.

"Chris is a throwback point guard from the standpoint that he's not gonna tell you what you want to hear, he's gonna tell you what you need to hear. And I think sometimes, his delivery is off. But, what he's saying, nine out of 10 times is right. It wouldn't be so much cussing, it would just be like he talking, he's a talker. He's always going to kind to tell you what he wants, what he sees, what he needs, all that sh*t."

Then Barnes explained that Paul comes from a different era than most of the players in the league right now, and the type of treatment he got during his first years in the league is different to what young players get right now.

"Me being older than him, I just come from an era where you could yell at me and if I'll have to yell back at you, I will, but you know, I'm out here, I'm with you, bro. And I just think the disconnect sometimes with CP and younger players is just his delivery, because young players have been kind of so coddled in this new era where you say something wrong, and some of these motherf***kers will get you fired... These younger players have been given so much so fast--I'm not saying they're not talented, they've been just given a lot fast, so it's just like when someone who's kind of a throwback personality is barking at you, some motherf***kers don't like it."

Paul still belongs to the elite of the league, being considered one of the best PGs in the game. Of course, Father Time is catching up with him and his level has decreased a little. Still, he remains a solid player in the league and somebody who can make a big impact on teams.

The Suns are going through a really bad moment right now, losing a bunch of games in a row. Devin Booker was the only good thing they had for showing and the player is sidelined, so the picture doesn't look that promising for the Suns. CP3 can only do so much, but if they want to compete at the highest level, they will need much more than that.
