KUTV Salt Lake City reporter didn't realize she was interviewing Utah Jazz guard Jordan Clarkson.

Hayle Crombleholme was clueless about Clarkson's identity but continued to interview him nonetheless, and the latter played along. She was sent to Vivint Arena to get fan reactions about the local franchise, and she found someone who she thought was a perfect candidate.

Only that it turned out to be Clarkson, and Crombleholme had no idea she was speaking to the player himself. The former Laker had averaged a career-best 18.4 points and was even voted the league's Sixth Man of the Year.

“Did you go to any Jazz games?” Crombleholme asked.

“Yeah, a lot."

Like any other reporter, she also got his name and even got him to spell it out for her.

“If I could have you spell your first name and last name?"

“Um, spell it?” he responded. “Jordan Clarkson. J-O-R-D-A-N C-L-A-R-K-S-O-N.”

It took a good while for her to realize that she had messed up, and she later took to Twitter to apologize. She wrote:

Welp, pretty sure @rlikness and I just interviewed @JordanClarksons off the street without realizing it was Jordan Clarkson I have some follow-up questions…

On his part, Clarkson was plain amused, and it was all in good humor.

Jordan Clarkson And The Utah Jazz Started Strong, But Have Now Dropped To Tenth In The NBA Standings

It was a strong start to the season for Jazz, who won three in a row but have been largely inconsistent after. They are 1-4 in their last five games and are now placed tenth in a stacked West with a 20-21 record.

On his part, Clarkson has been putting up the numbers along with the odd scuffle, averaging 20.6 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 4.5 assists. His last five games see him average 22.4 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 4.2 dimes.

The Jazz has three stern tests coming up ahead, starting off with the Chicago Bulls. They follow it up with a clash against the Memphis Grizzles and then take on the Cleveland Cavaliers after. Only time will tell if they can make that surge with the season hitting the halfway mark.
