Though the front offices are the ones that generally make the basketball decisions for a franchise, there are definitely some superstars around the league that have some influence on what moves their team makes. GMs usually want to avoid making trades that their stars dislike.

Rob Pelinka has recently revealed that he consulted with LeBron James and Anthony Davis on all the moves that the Los Angeles Lakers made ahead of the trade deadline. It is clear that Pelinka valued the opinion of the team's superstars, and wanted to ensure that they got the right pieces to make a deep run in the playoffs.

Pelinka said he checked in with both LeBron James and Anthony Davis on all of the moves ahead of the deadline.

On paper, the Los Angeles Lakers clearly became a much better team after the trades they made. They got a solid No. 3 option, and went with youth, athleticism, and shooting on their roster by acquiring Malik Beasley, Jarred Vanderbilt, Mo Bamba, and Rui Hachimura. Bamba and Hachimura are both former lottery picks as well, and could have some upside for the future.

Of course, championships aren't won only based on talent. The Los Angeles Lakers will need to do their due diligence and gel ahead of the playoffs this year. The Lakers are a really good team as of right now, and it is quite possible that they will go far in the postseason if they end up making it.

LeBron Wants Kyrie Irving On The Los Angeles Lakers

Even though the Los Angeles Lakers already made a number of good moves this year, they could end up adding even more talent this summer. A recent report revealed that LeBron James wants to reunite with Kyrie Irving on the Los Angeles Lakers.

Enter the Lakers. James has made clear he wants to reunite with Irving. As partners in Cleveland, they won the 2016 NBA Finals, reached two others and were an otherwise dominant, unstoppable duo on offense.

There's no doubt that Kyrie Irving would be a good fit with LeBron James: that was proven when they won a championship together with the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2016. On the court, they are an elite tandem that can keep up with any team.

However, there is no guarantee that Kyrie Irving will end up signing with the Los Angeles Lakers in free agency. He could easily decide to re-sign with the Dallas Mavericks, and he has already been linked to the Phoenix Suns. It remains to be seen what he does, and perhaps LeBron James can convince Kyrie Irving to run it back one more time with him.
