Steve Kerr Reveals Warriors' Frustrations After Disappointing Loss To Lakers

Steve Kerr and his Golden State Warriors didn't appreciate losing to the Los Angeles Lakers on Saturday night.

The Golden State Warriors were the first team to face the new-look Los Angeles Lakers on Saturday night, and they couldn't get things done, as the Purple and Gold started this new era with a hard-fought win against the defending NBA champions. 

Lakers fans were happy to see their team getting a close 109-103 win over the Dubs, at Chase Center. This is great for the Lakers' aspirations this season, as they think they can compete for more in the Western Conference after an entertaining trade deadline.

As for the Warriors, they are still trying to figure out what to do with Gary Payton II, as that trade is in jeopardy now after the player failed a physical before the trade became official. This is a serious situation for the Warriors that could ruin the entire trade if they decide to call it off.

Steve Kerr And Warriors Not Happy After Losing To Lakers 

Meanwhile, they tried to win against the Lakers but couldn't complete that mission. After the game was over, Steve Kerr talked about the game, explaining that the players are frustrated after all these close games that didn't go their way.

“Our guys are frustrated. We’ve had so many close losses and we’re right up against the All-Star break. I think our guys, like everybody around the league, they need a break,” Steve Kerr said, via Clutch Points.

Kerr added that they lost the last couple of games after they couldn't close them out, which is a big deal for them. They need to start winning games consistently if they want to rank higher in the West and compete for the top spots in the standings.  

“But they’re frustrated that we couldn’t close out these last two games and haven’t been able to string together enough wins to kind of create a little momentum and some separation in the standings.”

The Warriors are now 28-28, enough to rank 9th in the Western Conference. They need to improve this number if they aspire to at least avoid the play-in tournament. This is a complex moment for the Dubs, and knowing all the things they're dealing with right now, there's not much hope that they can turn things around, especially knowing how difficult the West has become.
