Julius Randle has another reason to be happy. The New York Knicks star bagged a $1.2 million bonus after the team clinched a playoff berth.

This comes on the back of the $1.2 million he made in February earlier this season after he was named as an All-Star reserve. The latest development comes from ESPN's Bobby Marks who had reported news of his moolah made from the All-Star nod.

"Julius Randle received a $1.2M bonus after the Knicks clinched a playoff spot," Marks wrote in his tweet.

Like Boston Celtics' guard Jaylen Brown, Randle is one of the players who reaped some additional benefits throughout the season. The former recently raked in $2 million — $518,000 for playing 65 games this edition, and $1.55 million for games played and making the All-Stars.

Randle has been on a tear this season averaging 25.1 points, 10.0 rebounds, and 4.1 assists. This coupled with some stellar support from Jalen Brunson and RJ Barrett has seen the Knicks make the postseason.

Will Julius Randle And The Knicks Square Off Against Donovan Mitchell And The Cavaliers?

There's a real possibility of Donovan Mitchell and the Cavaliers facing off against the New York Knicks in the postseason, and the former, who almost became a Knick is relishing the challenge.

“It’s a full circle," Mitchell told  Stefon Bondy of the New York Daily News. "You wouldn’t want it any other way. What kid wouldn’t want to play against his hometown team in the playoffs?”

"I think for me, I wouldn’t want it any other way. It’s a storybook ending — it’s not ending, but it’s a storyline. Something that’s really special and near and dear to me, being able to play in a playoff game in front of my friends and family, the team that I grew up watching."

That said, New York has punched well above its weight and is the more well-rounded unit this season. Should these two indeed meet, expect a mouth-watering round of games.
