Julius Randle will be headed to the playoffs for the second time as a member of the New York Knicks, locking in the 5th seed in the regular season.

Randle said he'd donate $500 for every three-pointer he made over the last two seasons to the Earl Monroe New Renaissance High School two seasons ago. The All-Star has now presented the school with a check for $880,000.

“I’ll look back with a game that I had six or seven threes and say it’s for a good cause. It seems like every year we do this it gets bigger, better, and more support.” (h/t PIX 11 News)

Randle has made 338 three-pointers in the last two seasons, which would mean Randle had to donate $169,000 for $500 per three. He has given a generous donation, which will be matched by the Knicks and JP Morgan for the school's literary enhancement program. The school is named after Knicks legend Earl 'The Pearl' Monroe.

Julius Randle Is Ready For The Playoffs

The Knicks will be playing playoff basketball next weekend against the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 4-5 matchup for the Eastern Conference. Both teams have locked in their seeds and will play out their remaining regular-season games, awaiting the clash ahead. Both teams missed the playoffs last season, so we are guaranteed to have a fresh team advance to the second round in the East.

Julius Randle was named an All-Star and averaged 25.1 points, 10.0 rebounds, and 4.1 assists this season. He didn't fare too well in the 2021 playoffs, averaging 18.0 points, 11.6 rebounds, and 4.0 assists on 29.8% shooting efficiency as the Knicks crashed out to the lower-seeded Atlanta Hawks.

Hopefully, he is better prepared for playoff basketball this season to possibly give New York their first second-round appearance in a decade.
