Brian Windhorst Says The Cavaliers' Comeback From Down 3-1 Would Still Be The Greatest Ever Even If The Celtics Return From 0-3

There have been many great comebacks over the years in NBA history but the Boston Celtics are attempting to make one that has never been done before.

They seemed dead and buried after falling down 3-0 to the Miami Heat but have stormed back to level the series. The Celtics will look to become the first team ever to come back from that deficit in Game 7 but even if they do it, Brian Windhorst doesn't believe it'd be the greatest comeback ever.

"You're talking to somebody who was up close and personal on the 2016 Finals," Windhorst said on Get Up. "Coming back from 3-0 down and the comeback within the comeback, the Derrick White tip, it's very compelling. The Cavs winning that series down 3-1 against a 73-win team, winning Games 5 and 7 on the road, I'm not in (a) position to put it past that."

While Windhorst is at times accused of being biased toward LeBron James, you can't really disagree with him. Sure, the Celtics making this comeback would be absolutely incredible and they'd deserve all the praise in the world for it, but it is still an eighth seed that they're going up against. 

The Cavaliers came back against the 73-win Golden State Warriors who were led by unanimous MVP Stephen Curry and they would have had a claim to be regarded as the greatest team ever if they'd won that title. When you factor in the opposition, the Celtics were supposed to win this series while the Cavaliers were the clear underdogs in 2016. It is what makes that comeback so special and if the Celtics pull this off, they'd have to settle for the second spot, which isn't all that bad.

Draymond Green Is Rooting For The Celtics So He Won't Have To Hear About 3-1

Draymond Green isn't a Celtics fan by any means but he is certainly rooting for them in this series. On his podcast, he stated maybe if the Celtics come back from down 3-0, then he wouldn't have to hear about the Warriors blowing the 3-1 lead. Considering many look back at Draymond's suspension for Game 5 in that series as a turning point, he is surely hurt the most when people bring up the 3-1 comeback.

As we see with Windhorst here, the Cavaliers' comeback will rank at the top for many and Green will, unfortunately, hear about it for the rest of his life, even if the Celtics get the job done.
