Charles Barkley Believes The Lakers Will Win Game 4 If Anthony Davis Plays Great: "But He's Due For Another Bad Game Tomorrow."

Anthony Davis and the Los Angeles Lakers currently hold a 2-1 lead over the Golden State Warriors in the Western Conference Semifinals.

Game 4 of the series will be crucial as the Lakers can inch one step closer to reaching the Western Conference Finals. They need Davis to be at his sparkling best in the upcoming game, but NBA analyst Charles Barkley believes the Unibrow is due for another disappointing performance.

"It’s fascinating to me," Barkley said. "If he plays great, the Lakers are going to win, but he’s due for another bad game tomorrow. ... A great player does not have - A player who’s talented, who’s inconsistent can have those variations. You can never be a great player if you’re giving me 40 and 15."

Say what you will about Anthony Davis' inconsistency on the offensive end of the floor, but he has been very consistent with his defense. Thus, even during bad scoring nights, Davis has still managed to impact the game in a positive way.

But against a team like the Warriors, the Lakers need Davis to be great on both ends of the floor.

Anthony Davis Has A Passion Ceiling

Over the last few months, Anthony Davis has managed to stay healthy, and most fans thought that would make the Los Angeles Lakers unstoppable.

But now Davis has been dealing with the issue of consistency. Sure, it hasn't really had a huge adverse effect on the Lakers' playoff run yet, many are still wondering about the reason behind it.

NBA analyst Colin Cowherd recently gave an explanation for it. Cowherd believes the reason behind it is that Davis has a passion ceiling.

"With AD, is he physically capable of being the man every night? He's not. This is his 11th year in the league. There are things you can do to alter or improve a quarterback, but you can't make him taller, there are ceilings. And I think there is a passion ceiling and an intensity ceiling to AD's personality and his body. You're not gonna get 70 games, you're not gonna get 65 games, you're not gonna get 20 straight great playoff games. That's not who he is."

The veteran NBA analyst believes this is something that Davis cannot improve on as he's simply not capable of doing it.

Either way, the 30-year-old is still one of the best two-way players in the league on his day. The Lakers will certainly hope to get the dominant version of the big man. But if history has been any indication, the Laker Nation is all set to see another disappointing performance from him.
