Dwight Howard Boldly Claims He Had A Better Prime Than Nikola Jokic: "All Day, Everyday"

Dwight Howard had a bold claim saying that he would take his prime version over Nikola Jokic. 

Speaking on FanDuel's Run It Back, the former Los Angeles Lakers star said he would choose the prime Howard over the two-time MVP, "all day, every day".

Howard was clearly in a fun mood when he told Chandler Parsons his honest thoughts. And as far as comparing the centers goes, Jokic has an impressive resume as a two-time MVP and made the All-Star cut five times. His CV gets a massive boost should he lead the Nuggets to their maiden NBA championship this season.

In his prime, Howard was a defensive force averaging 18.3 points, 12.9 rebounds, and 2.2 blocks in his first ten seasons in the NBA. He was an eight-time All-Star and won DPOY for three years straight. The edge that Jokic has is his contributions offensively.

There's no doubt that Howard, when played for Orlando, was a powerhouse. He even showed that he had it when he came off the bench for the Los Angeles Lakers and the Philadelphia 76ers in the later stages of his career. But if a prime version of him were to indeed square off against Jokic, then that would be a battle of the centers to witness.

Dwight Howard Says He Would Love To Finish His Career With An NBA Championship

Earlier, Howard didn't hold back when asked about how he wanted to finish his decorated NBA career. Speaking to NBA insider Shams Charania on FanDuel, the 37-year-old said:

"I would love to come back to play in the NBA," Howard said. "I do enjoy playing international basketball. Just the experience is one of a kind. It’s a different type of grind of being in the NBA, and I had a chance to experience it. But I would love to finish off my career with an NBA team, hopefully, win an NBA championship."

While there were no takers for Howard's services this season, he kept himself busy playing in the Taiwan T1 league. He was impressive, averaging 23.2 PPG, 16.2 RPG, and 5.0 APG in his maiden stint in the league. 

This goes on to show that Howard still has what it takes to make an impact in the NBA. But it remains to be seen if any team will find a spot on their roster for him.
