Dwight Howard: “I Would Love To Finish Off My Career With An NBA Team, Hopefully Win An NBA Championship.”

Dwight Howard just spent the 2022-23 season playing in the Taiwan T1 league. While Howard thoroughly enjoyed his time in Taiwan, he wouldn't mind making a comeback to the NBA.

Howard, 37, recently sat down for an interview with NBA insider Shams Charania. In the interview, Dwight revealed how he would like to finish his basketball career.

"I would love to come back to play in the NBA," Howard said. "I do enjoy playing international basketball. Just the experience is one of a kind. It’s a different type of grind of being in the NBA, and I had a chance to experience it. But I would love to finish off my career with an NBA team, hopefully, win an NBA championship."

He added: "But if not, I enjoyed playing basketball for so long, and I’m just thankful that I’ve had the opportunity to travel and play in the NBA. It’s the best life."

Prior to taking his talents to Taiwan, Dwight Howard established himself as one of the best centers of this generation.

Sure, Howard is no longer the player he once was. But if provided with an opportunity, he can be a valuable veteran addition to any team in the league.

During his debut season in Taiwan, Howard had 23.2 PPG, 16.2 RPG, 5.0 APG, 0.5 SPG, and 1.2 BPG while shooting 57.7% from the field and 22.9% from downtown.

Dwight Howard Recently Recruited LeBron James To Taiwan

Over the last few weeks, Dwight Howard has seemingly made it his mission to try and recruit every superstar that gets eliminated from the NBA playoffs to Taiwan.

So it was no surprise that Howard did the same with LeBron James after the Los Angeles Lakers got swept in the Western Conference Finals by the Denver Nuggets.

"We got purple and gold jerseys, I got one right here, it's white. It's got purple and gold, though. Nobody's got No. 6, you can have that. You've played in the league for 35 years and broke every record. You're the GOAT. LeGoat. You can be the LeGM over here, the LeCoach. You can be the trainer, you can be the cook, LeDriver."

On the one hand, Howard wants to create a superteam in Taiwan. But on the other, he is seeking a comeback in the NBA for one last chance to potentially win another title in his career.

Of course, Howard was kidding about creating a superteam. Speaking of his return to the NBA, only time will tell if his wish will be fulfilled.
