Jaylen Brown Fires Back At The Haters After Game 4 Win: "The Stories Aren't True..."

This year, the Boston Celtics have endured many ups and downs. From a historically hot shooting stretch in the first few months of the season to going down 3-2 to the Philadelphia 76ers, this Celtics team has been a model of inconsistency all year.

Against the Heat in this year's Eastern Conference Finals, the Cs are facing their biggest obstacle yet after going down 3-0 in the series. After winning Game 4, however, Jaylen Brown made a strong statement about his team and pushed back against some of the media narratives that circulated after Game 3.

"Obviously we underperformed in the last 3 games, and you start to hear all these stories come out about X, Y and Z... who knows where they actually come from," said Brown.  "99% of them is not true at all. We wanted to stay together and I think that was the emphasis last night before we played today, was to make sure we are on the same page. We didn't want to come out and lay an egg, we wanted to come out and play together, trust each other, play some defense, have some pride about yourself, and find a way to win a game."

What stories might Jaylen be referring to? While he didn't point to a specific example, it's worth noting a quote on Wednesday that claimed this team was tired of fake liking each other.

“This is a Celtics team that has had chemistry issues in the past. They got through it, they got better, but I’ve had a source tell me in the past week that this Celtics team feels like a group that’s tired of fake liking each other," said The Ringer's Kevin O'Connor. "They've been around each other forever... and they've got to shake things up on different levels."

True or not, Jaylen Brown is looking to dispel that rumor by finding wins on the court, and now the Celtics will live to fight another day.

Can Boston Make A Historic Comeback?

History says that it's nearly impossible for a team to come back to win a series after going down 3-0, but the Celtics are in a good position to break that record. With more talent and depth than their opponent, the Cs clearly have a few things working in their favor.

But they will have to be perfect from here on out if they want to pull this off and make the NBA Finals. If they can muster up the same energy they had in the second half of Game 4, then it's hard not to see how they won't have a chance to win the next three games.
