"I Got People Texting me. 'Well, This Is The End For LeBron. This Is The End For LeBron,'" - Brian Windhorst Reveals People's Reaction To LeBron James' Potential Retirement

The Los Angeles Lakers loss to the Denver Nuggets in Game 4 which led them to a 4-0 sweep by the latter has the world believing that it was the end of the road for LeBron James.

"I got people texting me. 'Well, this is the end for LeBron. This is the end for LeBron. This is the end for LeBron," said NBA insider and ESPN analyst Brian Windhorst on The Hoop Collective. "I'm like, OK, I realize it's not 2018 LeBron. I'll take my hat off, but he went for 23 and 12. I agree, it's not the guy who would go for 38, 17, and 12."

James exploded for 40 points in Game 4, but it was no match for the Nuggets who were once again led admirably by Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray as they sealed the game 113-111.

Windhorst's comments come in the backdrop of the Lakers' Game 3 loss and rose to prominence once James sparked speculations of retiring from the game. “I got a lot to think about. … Just personally, with me moving forward with the game of basketball, I got a lot to think about," he told the reporters in the aftermath of the loss.

While there's no clear explanation for James' cryptic words, it's only fair why people reacted the way they did. The 38-year-old's performance this season showed he was far from done, and that would mean that Windhorst had the perfect thought about the seasoned veteran still having it in him for one more season.

Could LeBron James Retire This Summer?

That's a tricky question, but in all probability, he may not hang up his sneakers yet. The hardest part for James was carrying the team that was short on resources on both ends of the floor, but that was solved to an extent when the Lakers made solid moves ahead of the trade deadline.

Now, with Kyrie Irving's future still undecided, there's every chance that James might push the LA front office to pull the trigger on a massive trade that could give him perhaps his last shot at winning a title. As far as comments go, he was pretty tired and dejected, so it is understandable if he did say it out in the spur of the moment. All said. the next couple of months will be interesting.
