Nikola Jokic On His Old Tweet 'Is Anyone Down For A Pickup Basketball Game' When He Was A Kid: "If Anybody Wants To Play Pickup, They Can Call Me"

Nikola Jokic's tweet from 12 years ago where he was looking for someone to play basketball with him resurfaced during his postgame conference with the reporters after the Denver Nuggets swept the Los Angeles Lakers 4-0 in the WCF on Monday.

And when asked about it, Jokic, who is off social media had a modest reply. "Do you know how hard it is to find a pickup game right now?" he joked. "Especially in my hometown. I remember days when you can just go outside and it was hard to find people ready to play a pickup game. If anybody wants to play A Pickup, They Can Call Me"

Looking at how things stand, Jokic will have no dearth of players if he ever takes to social media (which he needs to get back to in the first place) asking for people to play pickup.

Jokic has been phenomenal for the Nuggets throughout the season, leading them to their NBA Finals and in the process being named as the Conference Finals MVP. Now, he has a shot at creating history by getting the Nuggets a chance to win the Finals.

LeBron James Doffs His Hat To Nikola Jokic

If LeBron James has praises for you, it means he's impressed with what he saw. And that was the case for Jokic whose insane pyrotechnics in Game 4 left James in awe.

“When you have a guy like Joker who as big as he is, but also as cerebral (as) he is, you can't really make many mistakes vs. a guy like that," LeBron said. "And even when you guard him for one of the best possessions that you think you've guarded him, he puts the ball behind his head, Larry Bird style, and shoots it 50 feet in the air, and it goes in. He did it like 4–5 times this series. So, you do it like this to him (tipps his cap off)."

Jokic finished his evening with 30 points, 14 rebounds, and 13 assists, adding to his string of triple-doubles to help the Nuggets win 113-111. Now, he will have to bring his A-Game to the fore when they face either the Miami Heat or the Boston Celtics in the Finals.
