Lou Williams Shares The Story Of How Allen Iverson Gave Him A Bag And He Secretly Opened It And Found A Ton Of Money And Jewelry

Lou Williams was drafted by the Philadelphia 76ers in 2005 and in his rookie season, he got to play alongside Allen Iverson. AI was known for being both eccentric and generous, and that led to some wild stories. 

Speaking on the 85 South Comedy Show, Lou Williams explained what it was like being a rookie to Allen Iverson. And he told an epic story about the time he had to grab AI's bags. 

"One night he called me, and he like, 'Yo, come grab my bag for a second,'" Williams said. "So I come grab his bag and like anybody else that's an Allen Iverson fan and you got his personal property, I go through his bag, you know what I'm saying? Mind you, I'm a 17-year-old kid so open the bag, there's a bunch of cash and all this jewelry and sh*t.

"So I go get the ironing board, lay his sh*t out, take pictures and sh*t. Send it to the homies like, 'Look bruh...' I put all that sh*t back in the bag, next morning I take him his bag. He open the bag up, take all the jewelry out. Throws me the bag back, let me keep all the cash."

Allen Iverson made hundreds of millions in the NBA, but he was known to give money away to friends, family, and even to rookies, it would seem. There's a reason Iverson ended up losing all of his wealth, although a contract from Reebok spared him the indignity of not having money at this point in his life.
