LeBron James has earned a reputation for making his teammates better and allowing them to flourish. This was on display during the 2016 championship run, when he got the most out of all his teammates to help the Cavaliers get over the hump.
Playing with LeBron James isn't easy in some ways. John Stockton recently pointed out that it can likely be 'maddening' to be his teammate. But on the court, it's hard to imagine a single better superstar to have on a team.
Iman Shumpert Compared Playing With LeBron James To Playing With Carmelo Anthony
LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony were both drafted in the 2003 NBA Draft and both were vying to be the face of the league early in their careers.
And while talking about LeBron James, Shumpert compared that to his time playing alongside Carmelo Anthony on the New York Knicks.
"As a competitor, that’s just what it is. They just push that sh*t off and they continue to whoop your a** till you catch up. I had to play under Melo, like Melo’s that guy.
"‘I can’t jump in your body and do it for you, Shump.’ Thirty times, ‘Look, give me the ball. Give me the ball in the game and I’ll do it.’”
LeBron James' uniqueness as an NBA superstar is truly second to none, and it's a big reason why despite being 38 years old, fans expect him to lead the Los Angeles Lakers to success next season.
