James Harden's Agent Believes He Will Be In The MVP Conversation Next Season

  • James Harden's agent had some interesting developments
  • He believed Harden would be in the MVP conversation next season
  • Harden wants to play for the LA Clippers in the 2023-24 season

James Harden and the Philadelphia 76ers are perhaps the bigger storylines alongside Damian Lillard and the Miami Heat trade saga.

And amid the ongoing developments of the Sixers calling off trade discussions about Harden's future, his agent revealed that the guard was expected to be in stellar shape and stake a claim in the MVP conversation.

Harden was the MVP in the 2018 NBA season averaging 27.5 points, 9.1 assists, and 8.6 rebounds per game. And while he has maintained consistent numbers, his number of games played in the last eight seasons has dwindled. Injuries and inconsistency played a part in James not making the MVP chatter again.

This past season, he was a vital cog in the Sixers unit averaging 21.0 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 10.6 assists, and helped the team make the playoffs. But Philadelphia fell short again, and that was followed by Harden asking out of the franchise.

At the time of writing, there are multiple reports doing the rounds about Harden going to be a no-show for the Sixers training camp ahead of the 2023-24 season. And it will be interesting to see how he keeps his health in regard as he guns for MVP silverware.

James Harden Has His Sights Set On The LA Clippers

While the rumor mills around his future in Philly continue to churn, Harden has made his stance clear that he wants to play for the LA Clippers next season.

That said, there has not been a lot of movement on that scenario, and in an earlier report, the 76ers had ended trade talks on Harden and were keen on having him in training camp.

It's unfortunate with the way things are going, chances are it might be another Houston Rockets situation, and the Sixers will be keen on ensuring that won't happen. Harden getting his wish won't come as a surprise, but not before things get ugly.
