Austin Reaves On Who Talks The Most Trash In The NBA: "All Of Memphis... It Felt Good Beating Them In The Playoffs."
- Austin Reaves picked the whole Grizzlies team when asked who talks the most trash in the NBA
- Reaves stated it felt good to beat the Grizzlies in the 2023 playoffs
- Reaves and the Lakers eliminated them in six games in the first round
The Memphis Grizzlies went from being an exciting young team that was easy to root for to one of the more hated ones in a flash. Their cockiness and trash-talking rubbed many the wrong way, including Austin Reaves.
During an appearance on the Full Send podcast, Reaves was asked who talks the most trash in the league, and he picked the whole Grizzlies team. The 25-year-old then admitted it felt good to knock them out of the playoffs.
"All of Memphis, honestly. Their whole team talked s**t. It felt good beating them in the playoffs."

Interestingly, Stephen Curry liked this post as well. It is safe to say a lot of NBA players aren't too happy with how the Grizzlies have gone about their business recently.
Against the Los Angeles Lakers, all that trash-talking backfired brutally on the Grizzlies and on Dillion Brooks, in particular. Brooks had insulted LeBron James after their mid-game altercation in Game 2. The former Grizzlies forward called James old and stated he doesn't respect anyone until they get 40 points on him.
LeBron didn't get to 40, but the Lakers would end up winning the series fairly comfortably in six games. Game 6 was a beatdown for the ages, as the Lakers romped to a 125-85 win (40 points). While all the trash talk ended up being the big talking point, Reaves played fairly well in the series too. He finished with averages of 16.5 points, 5.4 rebounds, 5.0 assists, 0.7 steals, and 0.5 blocks per game.
Ja Morant Stated The Grizzlies Will Do Less Trash Talking After That Series
If Reaves gets asked this question after next season, then the answer could potentially be different. After this humiliating postseason exit, Ja Morant felt it was time for a change in Memphis.
Morant stated that he and the Grizzlies would do less trash-talking moving forward, adding that it would be a good thing for them. Will that happen? Well, only time will tell.
Brooks was the most vocal trash-talker on the team, though, and the 27-year-old's departure to the Houston Rockets might just help in that regard. While the Grizzlies are looking back at it with some regret, Brooks stated he doesn't regret his controversial comments about LeBron.
