Ben Simmons Says He Owes Nets Fans A Comeback Season

  • Ben Simmons wants to have a comeback season for the fans
  • Simmons put in a lot of work this summer
  • The forward was once an All-NBA player with the Philadelphia 76ers

Forward Ben Simmons was once one of the best defensive players in basketball during his time with the Philadelphia 76ers. However, he has not looked the same on the Brooklyn Nets and has frequently dealt with injuries.

Recently, we saw Ben Simmons send a message to Nets fans, stating that he owes them a comeback season. Simmons believes that the season will be "exciting", and added that the team will "have a lot of fun".

“I owe it to everybody, the fans, and everybody, to get back to where I need to be. That’s what I did this summer — to get back. Get ready for a great year. I think it’s going to be exciting, we’re going to have a lot of fun. Get back to Brooklyn basketball.”

There is no doubt that Ben Simmons is ready for the season to start, and we'll see how he does during this upcoming season. The most important part for him is to be aggressive on offense while still providing an overall impact on the game.

Last season, Ben Simmons averaged 6.9 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 6.1 assists per game for the Brooklyn Nets. Though he is clearly not the All-Star-level player he once was, there is still time for Simmons to turn things around.

Ben Simmons Is Ready To Be An All-Star Again

As of right now, Ben Simmons is as healthy as he's ever been since his last season in Philadelphia, and he is reportedly ready to return to All-Star form. That will certainly be a boon for the Brooklyn Nets, as they desperately need more talent to try and compete in the Eastern Conference.

"I talked to somebody close to [Ben Simmons]," wrote Marc Spears. "They would say, 'I would say he's in the final stage of prep for the season and he has passed every benchmark and is as healthy as he has ever been since his last year in Philly.'"

It remains to be seen how well Ben Simmons will play next season. Being healthy is obviously important for any player, and it is doubly important for a player who has relied on athleticism historically. Hopefully, we see Simmons dominate next season, and all indications point to him attempting to do just that.

Ben Simmons Believes He Would Destroy The Player He Was Last Season With The Brooklyn Nets

It is fair to say that Ben Simmons did not have the best season with the Brooklyn Nets last year. In fact, previously, Ben Simmons admitted that he's ready for the 2023-24 NBA season, stating that he would "kill" the player he was last season.

"The version I’m at now, if I was playing against myself from last season, I would kill him. That’s how I feel."

It would be amazing for NBA fans to see Ben Simmons show that he is the player he once was. He is still only 26 years old right now, and perhaps he can make an All-Star team next season with all the work that he has put in over the summer.
