Damian Lillard Says Eminem, 50 Cent, And Kanye West Are The Worst Rappers On The GOAT Hip Hop List

  • Damian Lillard made some interesting picks when asked to choose two of the worst from the best rappers of all time
  • Damian Lillard initially picked 50 Cent and Kanye West as the two from a pure rap perspective
  • When talking about their overall catalogs, Lillard named Eminem, but couldn't pick another artist off of the list

Damian Lillard is mired in a trade saga with the Portland Trail Blazers that seems to have no end in sight. While there have been too few concrete developments on that front though, Lillard hasn't let that stop him from enjoying his offseason.

Apart from being an incredible hooper and one of the greatest shooters ever, Damian Lillard is also a musician. As Dame D.O.L.L.A, he has released five studio albums, with the latest coming out this year. And he recently gave an interesting hip-hop-related interview.

Asked to pick two rappers to go out of nine of the greatest to ever do it, Lillard first asked a technical question, saying, "Like the actual ability to rap, the ability to rap, or their actual music? If I’m saying the ability to rap, two gotta go, I am gonna say Kanye and 50 Cent.

"Two in general, I am gonna say, I mean Eminem one of them for me. I am gonna say Eminem, and, that’s tough."

The list Lillard is talking about includes legendary rappers like Jay Z, Eminem, Lil Wayne, 50 Cent, Nas, and Kanye West. The newer generation of great rappers is also present, with Drake, J Cole, and Kendrick Perkins making the list.

The fact that Eminem, Kanye West, and 50 Cent all made his list is interesting and something that a lot of hip-hop fans might not agree with.

Damian Lillard Is Considered One Of The Best Athlete Rappers In The Game

Rap stars wanting to be basketball players and basketball stars wanting to be rappers is a tale as old as time at this point. Damian Lillard is one of the more widely respected ones, though.

Damian Lillard takes his career as Dame D.O.L.L.A. quite seriously, he began dabbling in the rap game with a social media activity he used to do called 'Four Bar Friday.'

He also went viral eight years ago after a freestyle during his appearance on Sway In The Morning.

In July 2015, he released his first full single, 'Soldier in the Game.' Lillard then took it a step further in 2016 by releasing his debut studio album, 'The Letter O.'

Since then Damian Lillard has released further albums called Confirmed, Big D.O.L.L.A., Different On Levels The Lord Allows, and Don D.O.L.L.A. While it hasn't garnered much commercial success, he is widely considered the best athlete rapper around.

Damian Lillard Needs To Get His NBA Future Sorted Before He Gets Back To Rapping

Damian Lillard was loved for his loyalty to the Portland Trail Blazers for many years. This recent trade request has caused issues for his image and the protracted saga is not helping.

According to the latest reports, Damian Lillard will request another trade if he isn't sent to the Miami Heat. With the situation seemingly at an impasse, he has to find a way to secure his future in the NBA before things get more messy.

Damian Lillard has always been fiercely independent, he is loved for being authentic, which is what gives him influence in the hip-hop scene as well. As appreciated as he is generally though, his take on the GOAT list is sure to make some fans angry.
