- NBA fans were shocked by the numbers
Injuries are part and parcel of the game, but some athletes like Ben Simmons, Zion Williamson, and Kawhi Leonard have spent more than their fair share of time on the sidelines. They're all on massive contracts as well, as a result of which they have earned a ridiculous amount per game over their careers.

NBA fans reacted to these crazy numbers.
One joked that he could play a game or two for Simmons, "Let me play a game or two for Ben."
A fan called out Leonard, "Kawhi be like, 'I don’t really feel like it.'"
One fan had a brutal assessment of Zion, 'Zion really a waste of money!"
A fan joked that these five are having a contest for the top spot, "We all know they’re secretly having a contest."
One fan had a hilarious take on this, "Work smarter not harder."
It is really incredible how big some of those numbers are. We also did a complete contract breakdown for Leonard, and he'll be earning $371k per game next season. It is going to be crucial for Kawhi that he stays healthy in 2023-24, as another injury-plagued campaign would almost ensure he wouldn't get another big contract.
Ben Simmons Feels He Owes Nets Fans A Bounce-Back Season
To say that the 2022-23 season was an ugly one for Ben Simmons might be an understatement. It was by far the worst campaign of his career, with the Australian averaging just 6.9 points, 6.3 rebounds, 6.1 assists, 1.3 steals, and 0.6 blocks per game.
He has been almost completely written off at this point, but the 27-year-old is backing himself to get back on track. Simmons says he owes Nets fans a comeback season and claims 2023-24 is going to be a lot of fun.
Teammate Cam Johnson stated Simmons is close to being in full form, and it will be interesting to see how well he plays. If the Nets can get the Simmons who was an exceptional defender and playmaker, then they could make some noise in the East next season.
He is another one, though, like Leonard, who is running out of time. We did a complete breakdown of Simmons' contract as well, and he'll only have one year left on his deal after this upcoming season. If he is a non-factor, he could be gone by this time next year and his NBA future itself could be in jeopardy.
Zion Williamson Is Preparing His Body For A Long Season
Just like Simmons, Zion missed a big chunk of last season due to injuries, featuring in just 29 games. Unlike Simmons, he played well, though, averaging 26.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, 4.6 assists, 1.1 steals, and 0.6 blocks per game.
Still, it's no good if you can only last for that long, and the 23-year-old is keen to get things right. Zion is focused on preparing his body for a long season and is coming into the campaign with a chip on his shoulder.
The New Orleans Pelicans really looked like serious title contenders when Williamson was healthy last season. It's a big if at this point, but if he can stay healthy, the Pelicans will be a force to be reckoned with.
