Rich Paul Says Stephen A. Smith Lied About Telling The Klutch CEO To Get The F**k Out Of His Face

  • Stephen A. Smith told Paul George that he told Rich Paul to 'get the f**k out of his face' during a debate about who the GOAT is
  • Rich Paul says this never happened and that Stephen A. Smith would never be able to talk that way to him
  • Rich Paul did admit that they had a cordial conversation about it, so it wasn't a complete lie

Stephen A. Smith has made a career out of playing a bit of an exaggerated character during sports debates on ESPN. And he recently made some claims about an exchange he had with Klutch CEO Rich Paul.

Stephen A. Smith said he told Rich Paul to 'get the f**k out of his face' during a conversation about LeBron James being No. 2 all time. Rich Paul recently called the story a lie on the Gils Arena podcast.

"Cap," Rich Paul said as soon as the topic was even brought up. He was then asked if Stephen A. Smith said that to him, with Paul saying, "Do you really wanna ask that question?

"Come on man, anybody in the world that know me know you not gonna say that to me, first of all."

"Now, if you wanna add context to it, Stephen A; that's my guy. We have cordial conversations, but I can debate all day long. So when you talk about it, there's no such thing as 'get the f**k out of my face.'

"Now what you can say is, 'Aww man, get out of here.' Let's just add context for the views. Okay, fine. Okay, so we move on."

Stephen A. Smith tends to overstate things, but this particular comment wasn't appreciated by Rich Paul. He did admit that a conversation like that might have occurred, though, which shows that Stephen A. wasn't completely lying.

What Exactly Did Stephen A. Smith Say About Rich Paul?

The GOAT debate is perhaps the most discussed topic in sports media. And as LeBron James' agent and one of his closest friends, it's not surprising to know that Rich Paul believes he's the GOAT over Michael Jordan

Stephen A. Smith explained on Paul George's show how during a conversation about this, he and Rich Paul disagreed. Here's a look at exactly what he said:

"I got him behind no one but (Michael) Jordan and I said to Mr. Chirper himself, Rich Paul - my boy - and I said, you act like that’s an insult. This dude [said] 'It is an insult.' I said, 'Get the f*** out of my face.'

"Exactly what I said to him. I don’t want to talk to you no more. When you gonna treat me like I’m disrespecting a man by calling him, in the history of the game that started in 1947, you gonna tell me that I’m disrespecting a man by having him No. 2 all-time, you’ve lost your damn mind. I’m not talking to you."

Stephen A. Smith surely overstated the level of familiarity he addressed Rich Paul with and it just goes to show that one can never be too careful when narrating stories about other people.

Rich Paul Doesn't Seem To Be Too Angry With Stephen A. Smith

Rich Paul has become one of the most influential agents in the NBA as the CEO of Klutch Sports, and he's not a man Stephen A. Smith will want to get on the wrong side of.

Stephen A. Smith has shown in the past that he will beef with someone if he disagrees with them, but it doesn't seem from his comments that Rich Paul is too angry about it.

Stephen A. Smith went after Paul George after he felt he was disrespected on Podcast P, and he will surely respond to what Rich Paul said here as well. There could be some serious drama that comes out of this, although there is no real reason for it to.
