Paul George Gets Real On Beef With Devin Booker

In the NBA, we at times see rivalries and beef between star players. One of the more prominent occurrences of that in recent memory is the beef between Paul George and Devin Booker, which started after Booker thought George was baiting Klay Thompson to slander him on his podcast.

When speaking to Taylor Rooks recently, George gave his take on his beef with Booker.

"I don't know where it took the turn... Things got heated when we played Phoenix. Conversations sparked... This goes down to respect... he was little bro when he came in the league, and then all of a sudden the temperature change... It is what it is at this point. It was just me asking Klay... his answer was his answer... I'm never looking to do clickbait stuff... He answered it from an honest perspective."

It definitely seems as though this is a misunderstanding. George clearly intended for Thompson to simply provide commentary on the situation between him and Booker, rather than looking for a response that would make the headline. It will be interesting to see if Booker responds to this revelation from George and whether the two can mend their relationship in the future.

Last season, Paul George averaged 23.8 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 5.1 assists per game for the Los Angeles Clippers. The team needs him to get back to All-NBA form next season, and hopefully, George ends up having a productive year with the franchise.

Paul George Previously Threw Shade At Devin Booker In The Media

Previously, we saw Paul George seemingly throw shade at Devin Booker regarding the latter's comments about him. He noted that there was "a lot of unnecessary talk" about him during the offseason.

"Yeah, I mean, it was just a lot of unnecessary talk going around the league of, you know, guys feeling themselves and directing comments toward me that haven’t done anything as well. You know, this is the last couple years of my career, so it’s all about legacy for me as well. And that’s just my approach—I got to finish strong and go back to loving the game and loving to dominate. And again, that’s just how I got to approach it. [If] I come up short, that’s on me. But that’s how I gotta approach it."

There is no doubt that there is no love lost between George and Booker as of right now. George is seemingly motivated by this situation, and perhaps that will result in a career season for him with the Clippers.

The Los Angeles Clippers And The Phoenix Suns Will Play Each Other Four Times Next Season

For those who are following this rivalry closely, the Suns and the Clippers will face off against one another four times next season. The first matchup will be on Jan. 3 in Phoenix. Then, we will get a game on Jan. 8 in Los Angeles. The two then don't face one another until the back-to-back on Apr. 9 and Apr. 10, with the first matchup being in Los Angeles and the other in Phoenix.

It will be interesting to see how Booker and George perform in those games. Both stars will likely have a point to prove, which could result in some spectacular outings offensively.

It seems quite possible that the Clippers-Suns games this season will be extra exciting, given this situation between George and Booker. The fans could potentially get to watch some insane basketball, and we'll see what happens in the future.
