Bally Sports Take Down Viral Video Of Mavs' Commentator Calling James Harden 'A Problem'

Before the Mavericks vs. Clippers in-season tournament game last week, Bally Sports Southwest Mavs' announcer Brian Dameris went off on James Harden, pointing out his troubled history of getting his way and still not bringing results, openly calling Harden a joke and a problem. Unfortunately, it seems Bally Sports has decided to delete the video after it went super viral. 

Sports Illustrated have revealed the reasoning behind the same.

"The decision to take down the clip solely came from Bally Sports Southwest executives who felt the clip 'did not reflect the Mavericks organization.' Somehow, those at Bally Sports Southwest were not in agreement with Dameris’s 'editorializing', according to a source, because it went against the network’s “values.”

The clip was initially promoted on Bally Sports' social media channels and was left up for a couple of days before they deleted it. The clip reached all corners of basketball fans on social media, with Dameris getting a lot of praise for calling out Harden in the way that he did.

We can't be sure about who needs to accept responsibility for this decision. Did the Mavericks ask Bally to remove the video because of the negative bias one of their commentators is showing against an opposing player? Did Bally Sports decide to remove it to keep the Clippers happy, as they also are responsible for airing Clippers games locally? We won't know for sure, but they won't be able to delete the very good points Dameris made in his speech against Harden.

What Did The Announcer Say About James Harden?

Dameris made a pretty scathing indictment of Harden's career and everything he's done in recent years being counterproductive to his goals of winning. Dameris ran through the list of co-stars that Harden demanded join him before demanding they get moved, while also criticizing his inability to take accountability for not being a winner and constantly deflecting the blame to someone else. 

"Listen, James, if you ever had those friends who had bad roommates, over and over they complain about their bad roommates. This guy is terrible, the bad roommate here, they never thought and were self-aware that they were the bad roommate. They are the problem. And James, you're the problem. If this doesn’t work this year, in this system, with this team, then you’re going to go and point fingers at everybody else and you’re going to go home and start swiping right for another team. There’s not going to be anybody left because James, you’re not The Beard, you’re not the system—you’re the problem.”

From the looks of it, the Harden era is off to a pathetic start in LA. He's averaging a paltry 13.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 4.3 assists and is unable to impact the game in any positive manner. He's past his prime and it's clear for everyone to see, but it looks like he is officially past the point of being a championship-level contributor. 

His age, scoring downfall, and overall attitude don't scream championship-level point guard. The Clippers will try to maximize what they can get from Harden, but the writing seems to be on the wall already. They won't lose all their games from now until April, but they'll struggle and be in a battle to make the play-in tournament.
