NBA Fan Posts A Pic Of Kawhi Leonard Getting Help At The Self-Checkout At Target

Kawhi Leonard recently went viral after a picture surfaced online, where he could be seen getting some help at the self-checkout counter at Target.

You certainly don't see something like this very often and NBA fans on Instagram found this to be hilarious as they reacted to it.

One joked that Kawhi was wondering why he had to tip at this counter, “Why is the self-checkout asking for a tip.”

A fan hilariously said Leonard was arguing how much he had to pay for an item, “Hell naw I ain’t paying that the tag said 7.99.”

The typical robot joke was made by one fan, "His settings reset."

One joked about Leonard bringing out his awkward laugh while thanking the worker, "After asking her for help he must have did his now famous weird laugh lol."

A fan found Leonard's choice of clothing to be crazy, "Durag, hat, and hoodie combo is crazy."

We'll never quite know what exactly happened here. I doubt that Leonard, with an estimated net worth of around $80 million, was haggling over prices at Target.

Some rumors are flying around that this happened over Target's new rule on self-checkouts. It is now only available for customers who have purchased 10 items or fewer and it could be that Leonard was unaware about that.

Kawhi Leonard Hasn't Quite Been At His Best In 2023-24

The last we saw of Leonard prior to this season was him dominating against the Phoenix Suns in the playoffs before he went down with an injury. Kawhi had averaged 34.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 6.0 assists, 2.0 steals, and 0.5 blocks per game in the series, but we haven't seen anything close to that from him in 2023-24.

Sure, everyone on the Los Angeles Clippers was going to take a while to adjust to playing alongside James Harden, but the 32-year-old has struggled more than any of his teammates. Since Harden has been in the lineup, Kawhi is averaging just 19.6 points, 4.7 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 2.0 steals, and 0.7 blocks per game while shooting 45.5% from the field.

Those are very un-Leonard-like numbers, but the hope is that as the season goes on, he'd get more comfortable playing next to the 10-time All-Star. I'd bet on that happening as well, as great players do eventually figure things out.

Kawhi Leonard Was Not Surprised That The Clippers Were Struggling After Acquiring Harden

The Clippers have now won their last two games with Harden in the lineup, but the losses were piling up initially. They lost their first five games with him, but amidst that terrible run, Leonard stated he wasn't surprised by the Clippers' struggles since acquiring Harden.

“Nothing really surprised me,” Leonard said. “Just I would say more of the downside. I’m seeing more of the downside of things early than what I thought about. Obviously like I said, we have four guys on the floor that are used to having a ball, used to finding a rhythm just by feeling and touching it all game."

"You could see it, you kind of seen it with Luka and Kyrie last year," Leonard continued. "They was trying to figure it out. But like I said, just playing more, you’ll start to figure out, OK, this guy needs this spot here or he’s, he got it going, let me buy in into another part of the game where I can make us win.”

Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving's struggles on the court last season were a great example. With time and a proper preseason together under their belt, the two are now in sync. While the Clippers don't have the luxury of a training camp with Harden, they do have plenty of time to work things out.
