Vanessa Bryant Shared A Beautiful Picture Of Her And Kobe On The 24th Anniversary Of Their First Meeting

It was on November 27, 1999, that Vanessa and Kobe Bryant's love story began. Monday was the 24th anniversary of that first meeting and Vanessa shared a beautiful picture of the two of them together on that special night.

"24 years ago…. Day 1. 11/27/99."

Kobe and Vanessa had met when she was working as a background dancer for a music video in the same building where he was working on his debut album. This actually isn't the first time we have seen this picture, as Bryant also shared it on the 20th anniversary of their first meeting in 2019.

"On this day 20 years ago I met my best friend, my Queen Vanessa Bryant. I decided to take her on a date to Disneyland tonight to celebrate old school style (pre 4princesses) I love you my mamacita per sempre"

Just a few months after their first date in Disneyland, the two got engaged when Vanessa turned 18 years old in May 2000. Just under a year later on April 18, 2001, they got married.

For her, it was love at first sight and it pretty much appeared to have been the case for Kobe as well. Unfortunately for them, Kobe's parents were not too happy about their decision to marry. There were numerous reasons for that, with one being how young Kobe was, and they didn't even attend the wedding.

The two sides only ended up mending fences after Kobe and Vanessa welcomed their first child, Natalia, in January 2003, which fortunately brought everyone together. Just over three years later in May 2006, they had their second child, Gianna.

Over a decade later in December 2016, they had a third daughter, Bianka, and then in June 2019, welcomed their fourth and last child, Capri. Tragically, less than a year after Capri's birth, Kobe passed away in a helicopter crash on January 26, 2020, along with Gianna and seven other occupants.

Vanessa Bryant's Plea To Fans To Help Save A Mural of Kobe And Gianna

While Kobe and Gianna will live on forever in the hearts and minds of millions across the world, Vanessa has also been doing her part to ensure their memory and legacy stays alive.

A very popular mural of the two in downtown Los Angeles was set to be removed, and Vanessa asked fans to help save that mural of Kobe and Gianna. She shared a petition for the same, and while it got over 90,000 signatures, it wasn't required in the end.

On seeing her plea, 2K Games reached an agreement to save the mural and it will now remain on the wall of Hardcore Fitness for at least another year. Ronnie 2K stated that the company made a philanthropic donation to seal the deal.

“We saw the petition, we saw how important it was for everyone, we had a discussion internally with our amazing marketing team and we’re like, ‘We gotta do something about this,’” Singh told The Times. “And then Vanessa [Bryant] posted about it. ... I’m like, ‘Yes! That’s the confirmation we need that this mural’s super important.’ And so when she posted about it, we sprung into action. We had several conversations with the landlord, the tenant, a lot of people in the community and just figured it out.”

I'm sure she and so many fans greatly appreciated their efforts to ensure it wasn't taken down. It is a beautiful mural and I for one, hope it stays there forever.
