Gilbert Arenas Reveals How Scott Foster Taunted Chris Paul In The Playoffs

Chris Paul and Scott Foster have been beefing for quite some time now and Gilbert Arenas has heard a thing or two about their tussles over the years. On the latest episode of Gil's Arena, Arenas shared how Foster had once brutally taunted Paul before a playoff game.

"They had that playoff game I think it was against the Spurs," Arenas said. "When he went up to him and said, 'You know you haven't won against me on closeout games?' Like told him to his face... What the f*** you telling me that for? Boom, loss. The league had to step in because Chris Paul wanted to put them hands on him, as he should."

That just seems so wrong on Foster's part, if Arenas is speaking the truth here. The officials are supposed to be impartial and he seems anything but that, based on that exchange.

Arenas reveals that after that incident, Foster was not allowed to referee games that Paul was involved in for a long time. Unfortunately for the future Hall of Famer, though, the NBA then allowed Foster to referee two of the biggest games of his career.

"Because this was such a big thing for Chris Paul, everyone had to step in," Arenas stated. "Scott Foster wasn't on Chris Paul's games for a long time. He wasn't allowed to ref any of his games for a long time, and all of a sudden, when they played against the Bucks in the Finals, they were up 2-0 and then Game 3, they bring on Scott, bring on the Kraken. Boom. Lost by 20."

(starts at 0:48 mark):

Foster would also officiate the closeout Game 6 of the Finals, which Paul and the Phoenix Suns would end up losing 105-98. Arenas says the Suns were favored for that game, but once it came out that Foster was going to be one of the officials, everyone knew the Milwaukee Bucks would win the game and the series.

In all, Foster has officiated 20 playoff games that Paul has played in and the star guard has gone 3-17 in them.

Chris Paul Said It Is Personal Between Him And Scott Foster

All this Paul and Foster talk obviously came after the latter ejected the former during the game between the Golden State Warriors and the Suns on Wednesday. After the contest, Paul stated it is personal with Foster and the situation involves his son.

The 38-year-old revealed he had a meeting years ago with his father, Foster, Doc Rivers, and Bob Delaney on the matter, but obviously, things weren't solved. Paul stated that he had no problems with officials saying whatever they want, but isn't a fan of them using technical fouls to get their point across, as Foster did.

Paul said he won't delve too much into the situation between them, as he didn't want to get fined.

Josiah Johnson Shared What The Situation Was Between Scott Foster And Chris Paul's Son

Interestingly, Josiah Johnson did reveal here what went down between Foster and Paul's son. He shared how Foster yelling some expletives at the kid led to the start of the beef. (starts at 0:20 mark):

"So in the situation with his son, I believe after a game little Chris was playing in the tunnel," Johnson said. "Scott Foster in a car with the other refs rolls up to him, honks the horn at him, yells at him, 'Get the f*** out the way,' and some other expletives... CP3 finds out about that, naturally like any of us would do with our kids, not happy about that."

If this really happened, it boggles the mind why the NBA would allow Foster to be a referee in any of Paul's games. I don't care how professional someone might be, they cannot be completely impartial when there is some bad blood involved, which is clearly the case here.
