Dwyane Wade Explains Why Michael Jordan Is The GOAT Over LeBron James: “Michael Jordan Will Always Be My GOAT… I Played Basketball Because Of Michael Jordan. LeBron Is Going To Be The GOAT For A Lot Of Generation.”

Every now and then, you can see the GOAT debate making a comeback, sometimes stronger than others but there are always people trying to convince others who is the greatest basketball player of all time. This debate comes, most of the time, to Michael Jordan and LeBron James and who people think is the real GOAT.

In the past year, the debates were really heated and everybody wanted to give their opinion on this matter. Even though it’s not as hot as before, fans want to know who is the GOAT for this or that player. Miami Heat legend Dwyane Wade recently sat with NFL star Brandon Marshall on his I Am Athlete show to discuss a variety of topics. One of the first they touched was the GOAT debate, with Wade making it clear there is nobody better for him than His Airness (11:10 mark).

“LeBron is one of my good friends, I have so much respect for what he’s doing now, what he’s done, and what he will eventually do… It will definitely be an argument that needs to be had. If LeBron ends up the number scorer of all-time, top five in assists and top five rebounds, with four, five, or six championships, you cannot do nothing but have the conversation of who is the GOAT.”

After talking about the career of one of his best friends, Wade went on to explain why he considers MJ the greatest to ever do it, crediting the Chicago legend as the reason he started playing basketball and why he believed he could make it to the NBA.

“I come from the Jordan era, so I’m biased,” he said. “Michael Jordan will always be my GOAT… I played basketball because of Michael Jordan… All of us have our own individual opinions… LeBron is going to be the GOAT for a lot of generations… [Jordan] will be my GOAT… I made it out of the hood because I’ve seen a dude, number 23 play the game of basketball at a level where I was like I want to do some of that.”

He played with LeBron James for four years in Miami and then one season with the Cleveland Cavaliers, so he knows very well what he’s talking about. However, Jordan’s impact on his career is huge and nothing can top what MJ did during his best days.

The similarities between these two big stars are huge; they even had almost identical games in the playoffs, were the best players in the world at age 35 and won a lot of things when most players are thinking about retirement.

Almost one year ago, when Jordan and the Chicago Bulls’ 10-part documentary ‘The Last Dance’ premiered, Wade said that the Charlotte Hornets owner was ‘chosen to be the GOAT‘ so you know he won’t change his opinion regardless of how great LeBron James has been.
