Huawei Mate 20 Lite and P smart Z start to receive March 2021 security update

In the same month, Huawei has begun sending a new software update for both Huawei Mate 20 Lite and P Smart Z smartphones. This update mainly brings the security patch released in March 2021 for improved system security.

These security patches fix various vulnerabilities and privacy issues found in last month’s software build and safeguard the Huawei device against threats.

According to the changelog, March 2021 security patch fixes 2 critical, 13 high, and 132 medium levels of CVEs and 3 privacy issues that enhance system security and overall device performance.

• Huawei Mate 20 Lite
• Huawei P Smart Z

Early in April, Huawei has delivered the February 2021 security improvements for the Mate 20 Lite smartphone that fixes 2 critical and 26 high levels, and 77 medium levels of CVEs.

Before you upgrade:

1. We recommend you take a backup of your important data.
2. Use a stable connection to download the update package.
3. Do not forcefully turn off the phone, once the installation is started.

EMUI Version:

• Huawei P Smart Z smartphone getting EMUI version 10.0.0.236 (C431E11R1P2) with an update size of 109MB.
• Huawei Mate 20 Lite smartphone getting EMUI version 10.0.0.278 (C432E11R1P1) with an update size of 116MB.

Update steps:

There are two ways that you can download this latest software update, both of these areas the following:

VIA SETTINGS:

1. Go to Settings
2. Tap on System & updates
3. Tap Software update
4. Tap Check for Updates
5. Download and Install
6. Install

After the installation and restart, we recommend you let the system optimize the new application so your device can run smoothly on further commands.

VIA SUPPORT:

You can also request this update via the Support app with the following instructions.

1. Open the Support app
2. Go to the Services tab
3. Tap on Update
4. Download and Install
5. Install
