Monty Williams Isn’t Happy About Giannis Antetokounmpo Shooting More Free Throws Than Devin Booker, Chris Paul And Phoenix Suns

Winning in the NBA is incredibly difficult. Not only do you have to outplay your rival on the floor but also outcoach him on the sidelines. You need to be healthy, you need some lucky bounces to go your way, and sometimes, you also need to play against the referees.

That seemed to be the case with the Phoenix Suns and the Milwaukee Bucks last night, as Scott Foster and the officials weren't doing the visitors any favors.

That's why coach Monty Williams called out the referees after the game, complaining about the fact that Giannis Antetokounmpo had 17 free-throw attempts alone, while the Phoenix Suns had 16 as a whole:

"I’m not going to get into publicly complaining about fouls, but we had 16 free throws tonight. One guy [on the Bucks] had 17," coach Williams said after the game, as quoted by ClutchPoints.

Obviously, putting all the blame on the referees isn't fair either. Booker and Paul weren't that efficient from the floor and, even though they were pretty aggressive, their shot just wasn't falling.

Nonetheless, it's still worth noting that Chris Paul is now 0-12 on his last playoff games officiated by Scott Foster, which is a trend the league should take notice of. I mean, is 12 times a coincidence?

Giannis Antetokounmpo is one of the most physically dominant players in the league and he's just playing on a whole different level right now, so it's not unusual to see him going to the line 17 times in one night. But maybe, just maybe, coach Williams is right this time.
