For Dwyane Wade, his life after walking away from the game has been very exciting. Wade has dedicated himself to his family even more. On top of that, he has been making a lot of moves in his business career.

Most notably, Wade became a part-owner of the Utah Jazz and was present for their NBA playoff run this last year. A few fans were shocked that Wade didn’t try to become an owner of the Miami Heat or the Chicago Bulls.

Wade is considered the greatest Heat player of all time, winning 3 NBA championships with the franchise, and even being named Finals MVP in 2006. As for Chicago, Wade played for the franchise in an effort to represent his hometown.

But regardless, he has made his entry into the NBA ownership world. In fact, he was even mentoring Donovan Mitchell during the playoffs, a player that many fans have compared to Wade over the last few years.

As for his family, Wade is cherishing his time with them. He and his wife Gabrielle are often spotted in public, whether it be alone or with their children. For D-Wade, these might be the happiest times in his family life.

But things were not always this easy. Wade’s wife Gabrielle Union spoke in an interview about the rough patch the couple went through a few years ago.

She revealed in her new memoir that during their marital problems, Wade had a child with another woman, a fact that devastated her when she found out. But since then, the two have worked on their relationship.

“In 2013, before we were married, Dwyane had a baby with another woman. It should go without saying that we were not in a good place in our relationship at the time that child was conceived. But we were in a much better place when he finally told me about the pregnancy. To say I was devastated is to pick a word on a low shelf for convenience. There are people — strangers who I will never meet — who have been upset that I have not previously talked about that trauma. I have not had words, and even after untold amounts of therapy I am not sure I have them now. But truth matters.”

Since then, Wade and Union have thankfully been able to work on their relationship. And they are now in a much better place than they used to be. They appear to be much happier now than they were during his playing days.

With Wade retiring in 2019, he has been able to dedicate more of his time to his family, something he has made a priority now in his life.
