Google rolling out Android 13 Beta 4: Final Beta

Today, Google has announced to rollout of the Android 13 Beta 4 for Android beta testers and it’s also the final Android 13 beta before the stable rollout. This also marks the second round of stability and platforms commitment from Google for all of the open-source Android phone makers.

According to the information, the Android 13 beta 4 comes with build TPB4.220624.005, which includes new system behaviors, bug fixes, and optimizations to the Android 13 operating system. Google has also labeled some of the notes for the app developers to review and publish their apps on the Play Store with the latest SDK and APIs.

Aside from these things, Google has also published a list of issues that have been fixed with this final Android 13 beta release.

Developer-reported issues:

  • Fixed an issue where on some devices, paired Bluetooth devices could be observed to rapidly connect and disconnect from the device.
  • Fixed an issue where the Google Camera app occasionally crashed on Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro devices.

Other resolved issues:

  • Fixed an issue where, when a user checks for system updates by navigating to Settings > System > System update, the system incorrectly reported Android 12 as the device’s Android version, even when the device was already successfully updated to an Android 13 build.
  • Fixed an issue on Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro devices where the Now Playing page sometimes got stuck on Downloading song database.

The Android 13 developer beta 4 is available to download on Google Pixel devices including the following.

  • Pixel 4 XL
  • Pixel 4a
  • Pixel 4a (5G)
  • Pixel 5
  • Pixel 5a
  • Pixel 6
  • Pixel 6 Pro

Testers that are already a part of this developer beta program, will receive a notification to download the latest beta build via the OTA method. On the other hand, new testers have to download it manually via here (link).

Notes:

The latest Android 13 beta 4 release might have some issues related to stability, battery, or performance. On the other hand, there could be some passes that may not work as seamlessly as they were in Android 12 and there might be some behavior bugs including the system apps. Users, who don’t want these issues could wait for the public launch to download and use Android 13.
