Mikal Bridges Says To Donovan Mitchell: 'Don't Try To Come Get 80' Against Phoenix Suns

Mikal Bridges Doesn't Want Donovan Mitchell To Go Off On Suns

Mikal Bridges, one of the best defenders on the Suns, urged Mitchell to not try to make those efforts against them. If he previously went for 71, Bridges think he's now aiming at 80. 

“Hope he don’t try that s**t next game,” Bridges said, via Suns beat reporter Duane Rankin of AZ Central. “I talked to him today. I sent him a lot of IG DMs. A lot of voice memos. Kept telling him, ‘Hey bro, don’t try to come get 80 tomorrow.'”

These strategies sometimes backfire and leave teams without an opportunity to defend themselves. That's what happened with Gregg Popovich and Luka Doncic. The veteran head coach said the San Antonio Spurs would hold Luka under 50 points and the Dallas Mavericks superstar left the arena with 51 points.
