Shaquille O'Neal Admits He And Kobe Bryant Would 'Demolish' Any Duo Put Against Them
Over the course of NBA history, we've seen countless duos assert their dominance over the competition. From the days of Bill Russell and Bob Cousy to the infamous tandem of Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen, the NBA as we've known it is no stranger to star players joining together for a common cause.
As winners of three straight titles together, Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O'Neal are probably at the top of the list when it comes to all-time greatest star pairings and O'Neal himself is not shy about his stance on it. Just a few hours ago, the Lakers legend reminded the world that he and Kobe could take on any foes in their path.
"YUP I SAID IT," wrote Shaq in the caption. "...we will demolish any duo u put up against us."

Any true basketball historian is familiar with the success of the Shaq and Kobe Lakers. While far from perfect, their dominance was unmatched in its prime and it resulted in three straight championships (a feat that has not been accomplished since).
So, based on pure talent and results alone, you have to put Kobe and Shaq right up there with the best of them. Had they not broken apart from the inside after just a few years, the Lakers might have enjoyed even more success during that period.
Shaq Says 2002 Finals Run With Kobe Was An All-Time Great Performance
What made Shaq and Kobe so special was their balanced skillsets. As O'Neal dominated on the interior, Kobe was doing his thing on the perimeter. Together, teams just had no answer for the Lakers and it would be several years before anybody could stop the Purple and Gold.
While Pippen and Jordan had more success together, Shaq still believes his run with Kobe was just as powerful.
"Which duo are you taking? You already know my answer," Shaq wrote in a caption from a picture showing his stats combined with Kobe Bryant in the 2002 Finals and the numbers from Jordan and Pippen in 1993.
Looking back, it's still hard to believe just how dominant the Lakers were in the early 2000s and while they've won several times since then, they've never had another moment quite like that and it may never happen again.
