Adam Morrison Reveals How He Won A Bet Against Michael Jordan

  • Adam Morrison had quite the betting experience with Michael Jordan
  • Morrison revealed he didn't expect Jordan to pony up after losing the bet
  • Adam Morrison didn't have a decorated NB career

Not many won bets against Michael Jordan, but when they did, the Chicago Bulls icon would promptly honor the deal. Except, Adam Morrison didn't see that trait coming his way.

Morrison relived the time when he won a bet against Jordan and also added how shocked he was to see how the latter responded. Speaking on the Battle for LA Podcast:

"We used to have an unwritten rule in the league, and most teams did it – If your team played each other in basketball or football, it was an automatic $100 bet," Morrison said. "So Gonzaga played Carolina in the Garden after my rookie year, and we won, and so I saw him at the Christmas party and was like, ‘Hey, you owe me $100!’ And I was kind of like joking, and he was like, ‘Oh yeah! No problem.’ And he pulled out like $8-10 grand out of his pocket. ‘Here you go’…"

I Guess Morrison was one of the few lucky ones who, indeed, got the better of Jordan and even made money off of it.

But then, safe to say, there aren't many who lost quite a bit of moolah trying to place bets with the Bulls superstar and come out with their winnings.

Adam Morrison Didn't Have A Lasting NBA Career

Labeled as a promising talent out of Gonzaga, Adam Morrison was selected third overall in the 2006 NBA draft by the Charlotte Bobcats, behind Andrea Bargnani and LaMarcus Aldridge.

In his two seasons with Charlotte, the forward averaged 7.5 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 1.4 assists. An ACL injury forced him to miss the entirety of the 2007-08 season.

He was traded to the Los Angeles Lakers in 2009, and while he won two championships with the franchise, he saw very limited minutes and averaged just 2.2 points, 1.0 rebounds, and 0.5 assists in 39 games.

While his NBA career didn't pan out the way he intended, Morrison did have a brilliant story to tell of his interaction with Michael Jordan. It wasn't a win on the floor, but he will take the moral money victory any day.
