Kyle Kuzma Says The Clippers Shouldn't Have Traded For James Harden

With the Washington Wizards being on a bit of a break like many teams in the NBA due to the In-Season Tournament, Kyle Kuzma decided to have a Q&A on Tuesday night on X. He responded to a lot of questions and we picked out some of the interesting ones.

One of the more notable ones was when Kuzma was asked about the Los Angeles Clippers and he stated they should not have traded for James Harden.

That might be somewhat controversial, but Kuzma is not the only one to have that opinion. Many would argue the Clippers were more balanced earlier and this move for Harden has destabilized them.

He was then later asked about his favorite city to play in, and it isn't Washington.

New York City and Madison Square Garden are considered the Mecca of basketball, so it is understandable. Almost every player dreams of putting on a show there and Kuzma is no different.

A fan asked what Kuzma thought of the Dallas Mavericks this season, and he thinks they need more.

Dereck Lively II has certainly impressed in his rookie season and he has given the Mavericks a huge boost on the defensive end. It does feel, though, like they need one more piece if they are to be serious contenders, so Kuzma was on point.

There's always talk about the altitude when playing in Denver and Kuzma was asked if it is a real thing, which led to a hilarious response.

It sure is quite an advantage for the Denver Nuggets if the opposition is thinking about the altitude and not them. Kuzma played well in his last game in Denver, though, scoring 24 points on 9-16 shooting from the field in December last year.

With there being so many elite point guards in the NBA, Kuzma was also asked to pick his top 3, and he made some interesting picks.

Tyrese Haliburton, De'Aaron Fox, and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander have all excelled this season and it has been a joy to watch them in action. He avoided getting pelted with abuse from fans by stating he just picked the ones he loves to watch.

Last but not least, Kuzma also revealed how he spent his first NBA paycheck.

That would have cost an awful lot of money, but fortunately, it doesn't seem like he turned into a reckless spender. Kuzma bought his mother a new house last year and earlier this year, he got a four-year, $102 million deal from the Wizards.

Kyle Kuzma's 2023-24 Season

The Wizards have been a train wreck this season, but Kuzma certainly isn't the one to blame for that. The 28-year-old is averaging a career-high 23.6 points per game and shooting a career-best 47.4% from the field, while also putting up 6.1 rebounds, 4.6 assists, 0.3 steals, and 0.6 blocks per game.

Jordan Poole's lowlights have dominated the headlines when it comes to the Wizards, which has led to Kuzma's play going somewhat under the radar. It also doesn't help that despite him playing fairly well, the Wizards are 3-16 on the season.

Washington is going nowhere and it wouldn't be a surprise if teams start asking about whether Kuzma is available for a trade. As he signed that new deal this offseason, he is not eligible to be traded until January 15. When the day comes, though, I'd expect Kuzma's name to certainly be floated around in trade rumors.
