NBA Rumors: Miami Heat “Concerned” About Tyler Herro’s Celebrity Status

Heat youngster Tyler Herro has become one of the most important members of his team. As a knockdown shooter and exceptional scorer, he’s got a lot in his bag — and it has earned him a lot of attention from fans.

In fact, Herro’s fame has almost outgrown his identity on the court, so much so that it might actually be impacting how other NBA players look at him.

“Tyler Herro chose to become a celebrity,” Winderman said. “He chose to become something outside the game, as is his right. With his breakfast cereal, and his Tyler Tuesdays, and his Chipotle Bowl and that’s all well and good. But you know what? Other players when they see a player doing that before they’ve truly reached it. I don’t know if I want to say there’s a jealousy. … They sort of take a scant view of the guy and say, ‘Wait a minute buddy. You haven’t done anything yet.’”

Of course, Herro’s activity outside the court might be less of a problem if he was performing at a high level. Unfortunately, he has hit a pretty big rut recently, only scoring double-digits once in his last four games.

The Heat are starting to grow concerned.

“Ultimately, the team starts to get a certain level of concern,” he said. “In this particular case, the team has been concerned now for months.”

Considering the circumstances, it’s entirely possible that Herro’s off0court life is impacting his game in a negative way. Fame, after all, can often be distracting for those who don’t know how to handle it.

Still, at just 21-years-old, Herro has plenty of time to work and develop his game. Hopefully, he’s able to live up to expectations and emerge as the player his team needs him to be.
